Job roles associated with this qualification relate to the delivery of training and assessment of competence within the VET sector. Possible job titles and roles relevant to this qualification include:

This course has 10 units of competency (7 core units and 3 elective) with assessments that must be completed to achieve competency. In this course students will complete the following stages to achieve competency:

  1. Analyse two training packages and two different units of competency.
  2. Design, develop and review two accredited courses.
  3. Deliver two consecutive courses and one other course to a different group. The delivery must include:
    • Distant learning components
    • A form of e-delivery
  4. Assess for the courses delivered face to face. The assessments must include:
    • A presentation for each assessment
    • At least one RPL process
  5. Validate both accredited courses

Students to provide a pen and note pad and wear comfortable clothing. All participants are required to competently complete all assessments. Assessments can be submitted by post or electronically.

Distance Learning (Online)

This method of course delivery allows participants to undertake the course at their own pace from any location (e.g. from home, work).

Distance learning can present a range of difficulties to learners and the following personal skills should be considered before enrolling into any distance learning course:

  • Your ability to study from home without structured classroom sessions
  • Your time management skills and commitment to self study/self motivation
  • Your access to a computer and internet connection
  • Your computer skills and ability to communicate with your course facilitator through an online forum
  • Your language, literacy and numeracy skills to read, interpret course information and complete assessments

Once enrolled and payment received, participants are provided with a login, password and web link via email for access to the online training page. The online training page will provide students with all the course instructions, course information, learning material, assessment tasks, templates, case scenarios and online support with facilitators.

This course can be completed over the period of 12 months. Approximately 2hrs/week should be allocated to study time.

Course Material

Once a competent mark is issued for all 10 units, you will be issued with a Cert IV in Training and Assessment TAA40110 certificate.Australian Qualification Framework accredited and Nationally Recognised Training from the Training and Education 2010 Package.

Competent or Not Yet Competent

All assessments must be submitted within two months after the final face to face session has been completed otherwise a Not Yet Competent mark will be issued. We recommend that you submit each unit as you complete it, therefore we can advise you of your progress rather than submitting it all at once.

If you receive a Not Yet Competent mark for any unit of competency, you will be given two weeks to resubmit the unit with the amendments made. If you receive another Not Yet Competent mark for that same unit, you will be required to pay the resubmission fee of $80 to have the unit marked again.

Assessment

All participants are required to competently complete all assessments. Assessments can be submitted by post or electronically.

Students will have to hold other vocational statements of attainment or qualifications in order to be able to be assessed for delivering an accredited course within the Deliver and Assess units of this qualification.

When completing this qualification through distance learning, students will need access to both an RTO and a workplace to deliver and assess students. This is a requirement of the qualification.

Language, Literacy and Numeracy

Students who wish to enrol into this course will need to have the following language, literacy and numeracy skills as a minimum:

Literacy skills to:

  • Read and interpret relevant information to design and facilitate assessment and recognition processes
  • Prepare required documentation and records or reports of assessment outcomes in required format
  • Read and interpret organisational documents, legal documents and contracts
  • Complete and maintain documentation

Language skills to:

  • Motivate learners to transfer skills and knowledge
  • Engage with the learner
  • Communicate electronically using accepted language and style
  • Ensure what is being said is appropriate and clear

Technology skills, including:

  • In different media
  • Keyboard skills
  • Using relevant hardware and software
  • Accessing information on the internet
  • Identifying technical problems and being able to troubleshoot or know where to get required technical assistance

Recognition of Prior Learning

All students are offered the opportunity to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Recognition of Current Competencies (RCC). RPL/RCC can result through previous formal training or a candidate claiming that he/she is competent because of life-time or work experience, or some other combination of work practice to meet the requirements of the course.

Certification

On completion of this course, students will receive a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment 40104. Australian Qualification Framework accredited and Nationally Recognised Training from the Training and Education 2010 Package.

This qualification is delivered under a partnership agreement with Industry Pathways (NPN:32315).
