Who should Undertake this Qualification?This qualification reflects the role of individuals who use well-developed skills and a broad knowledge base in a wide variety of contexts. They apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources. They may provide leadership and guidance to others with some limited responsibility for the output of others. This course has 9 units of competency with assessments that must be completed to achieve competency. Distance Learning (Online)This method of course delivery allows participants to undertake the course at their own pace from any location (e.g. from home, work). Distance learning can present a range of difficulties to learners and the following personal skills should be considered before enrolling into any distance learning course:
Once enrolled and payment received, participants are provided with a login, password and web link via email for access to the online training page. The online training page will provide students with all the course instructions, course information, learning material, assessment tasks, templates, case scenarios and online support with facilitators. This course can be completed over the period of 12 months. Approximately 2hrs/week should be allocated to study time. AssessmentAll participants are required to competently complete all assessments. The written evidence required may be submitted by using our online submission form, by email or post. This evidence will demonstrate the required knowledge and skills for Occupational Health & Safety in the workplace. You will require a computer, internet connection and possibly access to a printer. PaymentsIf you are unable to make the full deposit payment for this qualification, contact us and we’ll discuss payment options with you. NOTE: When you have finished your training, no certificates are issued until the amount has been paid in full. Competent or Not Yet CompetentAll assessments must be submitted prior to the 12 month period otherwise a Not Yet Competent mark will be issued. We recommend that you submit each unit as you complete it, therefore we can advise you of your progress rather than submitting it all at once. If you receive a Not Yet Competent mark for any unit of competency, you will be given two weeks to resubmit the unit with the amendments made. If you receive another Not Yet Competent mark for that same unit, you will be required to pay the resubmission fee of $80 to have the unit marked again. To have your unit of competency marked again, you'll need to email your assessor for further details on completing this. Recognition of Prior LearningAll students are offered the opportunity to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Recognition of Current Competencies (RCC). RPL/RCC can result through previous formal training or a candidate claiming that he/she is competent because of life-time or work experience, or some other combination of work practice to meet the requirements of the course. Students interested in RPL/RCC must contact the college prior to enrolment. Contact us to discuss RPL processes and determine if you should choose this learning pathway. CertificationOnce a competent mark is issued for all 9 units, you will be issued with a BSB41407 Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety certificate. This qualification is an Australian Qualification Framework accredited course and Nationally Recognised Training from the Business Services Training Package (2007 version 3).
