Cert III Patient Transport Distance Learning

This method of course delivery allows students to complete relevant course subjects by distance learning and face to face instruction. The knowledge based study and units are completed in the students own time (distance learning) and the practical components are delivered in face to face sessions.

Distance learning can present a range of difficulties to learners and the following personal skills should be considered before enrolling into any distance learning course:

  • Your ability to study from home without structured classroom sessions
  • Your time management skills and commitment to self study/self motivation
  • Your access to a computer and internet connection
  • Your computer skills and ability to communicate with your course facilitator through an online forum
  • Your language, literacy and numeracy skills to read, interpret course information and complete assessments

Students are required to attend 5 days of face to face instruction and assessment with an approved assessor to demonstrate competency. Individuals are required to attend all days to complete instruction and/or assessment tasks to achieve the Cert III Non-emergency Patient Transport.

Once enrolled and payment received, participants are provided with (via post) a copy of all learning and assessment resources. Students will also receive an email with a user name/password for access to the online secure zone.

The online training page will provide students with course instructions, an electronic assessment submission form and online support with facilitators.

This course can be completed over the period of 12 months. Approximately 2hrs/week should be allocated to study time.
